Waynesville-Mildred Lee Yarborough, age 80, of 38 Weeping Willow Lane died on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Poteat Carswell. In addition to here parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lyman B. Rogers, who died in 1962; one son, Michael Rogers; one stepson, Charles Yarborough; one sister, Sarah Ann Galloway; and three brothers, Richard, Wallace, and Sam Carswell. She was a bookkeeper for Winn-Dixie for 29 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church and she and her husband, Marvin were active in the building of the new church. She enjoyed, flowers, sewing, and cooking. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Marvin Yarborough; one stepdaughter, Janet Monroe and her husband, Gary, of Knoxville, TN; one son, Bill Rogers and his wife, Gail of Waynesville; three brothers, Mark Carswell of Miami, FL, Rufus Carswell of Waynesville, and Fred "Ped" Carswell of Jonesboro, TN; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2007 at Dellwood Baptist Church, where the body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The Reverend Bobby Rogers, Reverend Jim Johnson, and Reverend G.W. Jameson will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville, and at other times, the family will be at the home.
