Millard Nations

Canton – Millard John Nations, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Mountain View Manor Nursing Center. He was the son of the late Ben Arvle and Martha Phillips Nations. Millard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Peggy Morrow Nations. Millard was a member of Mountain View Church of God and was a United States Navy veteran. He is survived by his devoted children: Jeane Fratus and husband, Dean Hines, Nancy Bauchman and husband, Eddie, Ben Ray Nations and wife, Doris, and John Ray Nations and wife, Janene. Millard also leaves behind four sisters and three brothers: Myrtle Brooks, Barbara Ledford and husband, Bob, Lexie Edge and husband, James, Frankie Speas and husband, Henry, Arvle Nations and wife, Marie, Lon Nations, and Earl Nations and wife, Pat. Mit, as he was known by family, was preceded in death by his sister Virgie Loftis. Millard will be fondly remembered by twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one grandchild, Sara Weatherman Poland. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Mike Nations and the Reverend Herman Toney officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the services.
