Minerva Higgins

Canton-Louise Liner Higgins, age 83, formerly of Dutch Cove, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2006 A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Paxton and Cara J. Snyder Liner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pete N. Higgins Jr.; one sister, Lois Buckner and one brother, Jack Liner. Louise loved to laugh, crochet, and cook for friends and family. She was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Linda H. Hardin and one son, Daniel Hal Higgins both of Waynesville; one sister, Polly Roberts, and her husband, Flossie, of Canton; three brothers, William Liner of Waynesville, George Liner of Hickory and Gene Liner of Detroit , MI.; a special son-in-law, Roy Hardin, and grandson-in-law, Barry Treadway; and seven grandchildren Todd, Cara, and Dani Hardin and Tara, Terry, Jason, and Louise Higgins and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2006 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ed Lowder officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford /Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home.
