Minnie Banks

Waynesville-Minnie Banks, age 87, of 1196 Sulphur Springs Road, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Skyland Care Center in Sylva. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William and Dora Green McClure. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Horace Banks, who died in 1984; four brothers, Fred, William Lee Jr., Frank, and Gene McClure; and two sisters, Ada Mills and Nancy Plott. Minnie loved her family and roses. She is survived by one son, Gary Banks and his wife, Debbie, of Waynesville; two sisters, Mary Lou Wright of Canton and Charlene Towe and her husband, John, of Windsor, VA; one grandson, Cody Banks; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
