Minnie Reece

Minnie Trantham Summey Reece, age 72 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late William Arthur and Lillie King Trantham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Benny L. Summey, who died in 1991; a granddaughter, Brandi Reece; and a brother, Richard Trantham. Minnie was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Earl Reece; two step sons, Terry Reece of Odessa, Texas and Bruce Reece of Warren, Indiana; three sisters, Judith Ann Trantham of Asheville, Hattie Liford of Canton, and Lois Stroupe of Asheville; three brothers, David Trantham of Asheville, Doyle Trantham of Hendersonville, and Don Trantham of Enka; several nieces and nephews; and two special nieces, Leigh Ann McCall and Mindy Sherk. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Martin Worley and Reverend Jack Scott officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
