Minnie Rogers

March 6, 1940 — May 5, 2014

Waynesville, Minnie Mae Evans Rogers, 74, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at MedWest Haywood. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Cornelia Bryson Evans and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and David Evans. Minnie was a former employee of Dayco and the Waynesville Country Club and she also loved to travel. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lawrence Rogers; a daughter, Peggy Sue Silver (Mike) of Marion; a son, Steve Rogers (Tammara), all of Waynesville; brothers, Vinson Evans (Ruby) of Waynesville and John Evans (June) of Clyde; and two grandsons, Kelly and Nathan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ted Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
