Minnie Odessa Vicks, 88, of Enka, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 22nd. She was born in Eagle Springs, NC to the late Carl Alexander Monroe and Minnie Belle Seawell Monroe. Odessa loved quilting, cooking and being with her family and had attended Cedar Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Samuel Vicks in 1998.
Odessa is survived by her children, Faye (Calvin) Fink, Randy (Sherrie) Vicks, Rhonda (Rick) Kent, Dianne (David) Auldredge and Gail (Scott) Shuler; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and 4 brothers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25th from 12 Noon - 2:00PM in the Chapel of Faith at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00PM with Pastor Billy Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
The family is thankful to WNC Baptist Home and Four Seasons Hospice for their care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock NC 28731.
