Mitzi Robinson

"1959 – 2016" Canton – Mitzi Gibson Robinson, age 56, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Reverend T.M. and Patty Taylor Gibson of Bethel. Mitzi was a 1978 graduate of Pisgah High School and was a member and part-time pianist at Beaverdam United Methodist Church. She was a former preschool teacher at Canton First Baptist Church. Mitzi loved to work in her yard and her garden. Along with her husband, was active with the maintenance and upkeep of Beaverdam Community Cemetery. She would always lend a helping hand wherever needed and greeted all that she met with a smile. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joe Dale Robinson; one son, Joshua Blake Robinson and his wife, Monica Lynn, of Canton; a brother, Steve Gibson and his wife, Karen, of Stamey Cove; sister-in-law, Barbara R. Henson of Canton; one granddaughter, Madison Paige; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mitzi will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David Childers, Reverend Melissa Lowe, and Reverend Hugh Russell officiating. Burial will follow at the Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
