Monica Crowe

Monica Taylor Crowe, 54, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at The Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. Monica was born at Fort Benning, Georgia, and was a life-long resident of Buncombe County. She was a daughter of the late James and Lorna Jane Norris Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Roy and Leah Norris and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Cindy Taylor. Monica loved to watch football, taking care of her family, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an active member of Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church in Asheville. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Allen Crowe; one daughter, Jennifer Luther of Candler; one brother, Daniel Taylor of Canton; and two grandchildren, Nevaeh and Xander Luther. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jody Halstead officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Asheville Buncombe Christian Community Ministries, 30 Cumberland Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.
