Monroe Conard, Jr.

January 13, 1943 — March 21, 2005

Monroe Harrison "Bud" Conard, Jr., age 62, of Dutch Cove Road died Monday, March 21, 2005 after a battle with cancer. He was a native of Haywood County and was the son of Monroe Harrison Conard, Sr. of Canton and the late Mary Pope Conard. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Conard Bradley. He spent 3 years as a military policeman in the Army serving 13 months in Korea. He retired as a pipe fitter from Champion International after many years of service. He graduated from Canton High School in 1962. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, making music and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary "Sandy" Brooks Conard; a son, Andrew Conard and his wife, Diana; two grandchildren, Michael Bradley and Morgan Conard. He was blessed to have a large extended family and many great friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend Doug Love and Reverend J. D. Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
