Mora Mccracken

August 29, 1907 — December 26, 2006

Clyde-Mora Justice McCracken, age 99, formerly of the Crabtree Community, died on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Autumn Care. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Alcaney and Florence Ledford Justice and was also preceded in by her husband, Blake Andrew McCracken, who died in 1996; four sisters; three brothers; and two grandsons. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by a daughter, Selma Trantham, of Canton; three sons, Doyle McCracken and his wife, Edith, of Shallottee, NC, Lynden McCracken and his wife, Jewel, of Clyde, and Vaughn McCracken and his wife, Laurine, of Cherryville, NC; one sisters, Wilma Strickland of Asheville; one brother Vaughn Justice, of Mars Hill; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Crabtree Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Rogers, Jeff, Kevin, and Darrell McCracken, Lance Wait, Alan James, and Ricky Gibby. Memorials may be made to the Upper Crabtree Community Cemetery Fund, c/o Ben Best, 537 Bald Creek Road. Clyde, NC 28721.
