Myrgle James

Crabtree- Myrgle Mattie Parker James, 94, of 173 Bud's Drive, went home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was born in Haywood County on October 11, 1911; she was the daughter of Dan and Laura Matthews Parker. Mrs. James worked at Crabtree-Iron Duff School Cafeteria for twenty years. She was a member and faithful supporter of Crabtree Baptist Church all of her life. She loved teaching her Sunday school class, as long as her health permitted. Her family and friends were the joy of her life. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bud James; one infant daughter, Roxie Ann James; one sister, Eula Kimble; one brother, Roosevelt Parker, one-half sister, Mary Edwards; and three-half brothers, Claude, Robert and Forrest Parker. She is survived by her one daughter, Lucy Noland; one son, Ray James and his wife, Betty all of Crabtree. Five grandchildren, Gail Noland, Kathy Davis and her husband Greg, Rita Noland, Denise Bottoms all of Crabtree, and Ray James, Jr. of Candler; eight great-grandchildren; one-half sister, Rachel Silvers and her husband Charles of Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Ray James, Jr., Greg Davis, Matthew Massie, Caleb Jaynes, Robert James and Jacob James. The family will receive friends at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Crabtree Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. with Reverend Gene King and Reverend Dennis Ruff officiating. Burial will follow at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials can be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28786 and Meals on Wheels, 486 East Marshall Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
