Myron Hipps

Belmont - Myron Stephen Hipps, age 38, died Friday, April 22, 2005 at his residence. He was a native of Buncombe County and the son of Carleson and Sarah Lee Hipps of Canton. He graduated from UNC Charlotte in 1994 where he was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. He served as a combat engineer in the U. S. Army from 1987 to 1995. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, hiking and fishing. He loved animals and music and attended Warehouse 242 in Charlotte. He was employed by Wachovia as a Senior Network Engineer. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Everhardus Hipps; two sons, Jacob Curtis Hipps and Joshua Christian Hipps; his sister, Teresa Clark and family of Lawrenceville, GA. A memorial service will be at Warehouse 242 in Charlotte on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Reverend Bruce Marcey and Reverend Max Smith will officiate. Also, a memorial service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton with the Reverend Keith Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton is handling local arrangements. The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Nature Conservancy, 227 W. Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 or the Humane Society of The United States, 2100 L St. NW, Washington, DC 20037.
