MYRTLE METCALF CALDWELL

Clyde-Myrtle Metcalf Caldwell, age 80, died Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at Britthaven Nursing Home.

A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late James Carl and Annie Lee Rumbough Metcalf. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Caldwell, who died on July 1, 1995; four brothers; and two sisters. She was a lifelong homemaker, who was as generous and giving as she was private. She was a quiet and faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Emily Davis, and her husband, Tommy, of Waynesville; a son, Leon Caldwell of Iron Duff; a sister, June Smith, of Asheville; a brother, Harold Metcalf, of Candler; four grandchildren, Rebekah Davis Wilson and her husband, Cheyenne, April Parrish, Wendy Patton and her husband, Jeff, Pam Backhaus and her husband Brad; one great grandchild, Bailee Price; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2002 at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Taylor and Reverend Jarvis Teague officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at the funeral home, at other times at the home of Emily Davis, 2626 Crabtree Road, Waynesville.
