Myrtle Miller

Myrtle Moffitt Miller, age 90, died Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Silver Bluff Village. She was a native of Transylvania County and had lived in Haywood County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Mack and Minnie Paige Moffitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Carl Miller who died in 1986 and a son, Lt. Stephen Carl Miller U.S. Navy who died in 1977; a daughter, Frieda Miller Savarese; and a sister, Hazel Parker. She was a member of Haywood Regional Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary; the Joy Bridge Club, the Joy Club of First Baptist Church of Canton, and the Happy Hearts Club of First United Methodist Church of Canton where she was a member. She is survived by a sister, Ruby Reynolds of Brevard; daughter-in-law, Janis Clark Amacher; three grandchildren, JoAnna Collette Rohm, Kristin Adams Schulze, and Richard Allen Adams, Jr. all of Greenville, SC; three great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her nieces, Jerry Basinger of Salisbury, NC, Charlotte Caughman of SC and many other special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2007, at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Patricia Chaput officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are being accepted at First United Methodist Church, 31 Newfound Street, Canton, NC 28716.
