Waynesville, Myrtle Aileen Moore Thomasson, 71, passed away on Monday, March 28 2016 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Kermit Moore and Azalee Clark Moore Duckett and stepfather, C.J. Duckett. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Warren David Thomasson, who died in 1993; three brothers, Gary Lee Moore, David Moore and Gene Clark; a grandson, Ty Connor; and a great-granddaughter, Shaelyn Ledford. Myrtle enjoyed dancing at Diamond K Dance Ranch, loved to tend to her flowers, and paint ceramic figurines. Myrtle is survived by a daughter, Vera Thomasson Connor, of Waynesville; a son, David Thomasson (Kristine) of Carthage, New York; step-son, Darren Goble (Sandy) of Touchet, Washington; step-daughter, Julie Carter (Brian); ex-daughter-in-law, Cyndi Brooks Thomasson, of Sylva; one sister, Martha Frazier of Canton; four brothers, Jimmy Moore (Mary) and Richard Moore (Carol), of Waynesville, Carl Moore (Glee) of Canton and Don Moore (Georgia) of Virginia; eleven grandchildren, Brian (Amanda), Ashley, Gary, Shelena, Erik, Colton, Angel, Sequoyah, Tracy, Pamela and Robbie; and three great-grandchildren, Syler, Chelsea and Julia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and host of friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Chaplain Michael Revord officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home and at other times, at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, P.O. Box 560666, Charlotte, NC 28256 and The Homestead, 127 Sunset Ridge, Clyde, NC 28721.
