Nancy Fish

Canton, NC/Baton Rouge, LA - Nancy C. Fish, 72, a native of Haywood County, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Fidelis Care III in Baton Rouge, LA. She has gone to be with the Lord following her long battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Poley and Louise Lance, her husband, John Hardy Fish, Jr. (2016) and daughter, Jenny Nicole Fish (2006).

Nancy was a graduate of Pisgah High School in Haywood County, and married her high school sweetheart. Together they traveled and lived in many states throughout the country while raising four amazing children.  Nancy enjoyed cooking for her family and friends with sweet treats being among her favorite recipes to make.  She loved to garden and was always active in her neighborhood committees. Her greatest passion in life was for the Lord.  She was a devout Baptist who rarely missed a Sunday in church.  She devoted her life to Jesus and was always ready to serve Him.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Contessa Fish of Baton Rouge, LA; two sons, John Lance Fish (Lisa) of Frisco, TX and Jordan Heath Fish (Kelli) of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters, Karen Griffin (Kevin) of Candler and Joy Wright (Colin) of Hanford, CA; one brother, James Lance (Donez) of Waynesville and four grandchildren, Sophia and Jonathan Fish, and William and Harrison Fish.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Beulah Baptist Church with the Reverend Barry Clark officiating.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Candler.  The family welcomes friends at the church beginning at 1:00 P.M.

The care of Mrs. Fish has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
