Nancy Henderson Miller Grubbs, age 82, passed away on December 29, 2012 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Porter Robert and Minnie Edna Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Anderson Grubbs, who died in 1981; a son, Michael Earl Miller, who died in 1968; and seven siblings, Nell Bright, Jack Henderson, June Rigsby, Mary Sue Pauley, Betty Wall, Minnie Ruth Carr, and Judy Pennington. Nancy was a member of St. Andrews on the hill Episcopal Church. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Miller and her husband, Meredith Ferrier, of Canton; one son, Porter "Pete" Miller and his wife, Lisa, of Murphy; one brother, Paul Henderson and his wife, Winfred, of Canton; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; and two special nephews, Travis Cable and Bob Rigsby. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at St. Andrews on the hill Episcopal Church with the Reverend Tim McRee, Reverend Dr. Riley Covin, Reverend Beverly Brock, and Reverend Deacon Russell Smith, M.D. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Emanuel Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia.
