Nancy Guernsey

Waynesville-Nancy M. Guernsey, age 74, of Meadowind Court, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was the daughter of the late John and Loretta Tracey McLeod and was the wife of the late Edwin W. Guernsey who died in 2001. She was a native of Oak Park, Illinois and had lived in Haywood County for 16 years. She had resided in Miami, Florida prior to coming to Haywood County. Mrs. Guernsey attended the University of Miami and was employed by Eastern Airlines as a reservationist for 15 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was active with Haywood Christian Ministries for 16 years. She is survived by two daughters, Laurette Martin of Marietta GA. and Suzanne Heroux of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Chase Heroux and Lauren and Hailey Martin; several nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Joseph S.Guernsey. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando, Florida. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Waynesville.
