Nancy Hipps

Nancy Rhinehart Hipps, age 76, died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late B. H. and Emma Galloway Rhinehart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Reeves Hipps, who died in 2007; two brothers; and two sisters. She was of the Baptist faith. Nancy was a caretaker for the entire family whenever there was a need she was there. She took great pride in her home, especially her flowers. She is survived by four sons, Dennis Reeves Hipps and his wife, Sandy, of Canton, Larry Alan Hipps and his wife, Hava, of Carey, NC, Steven Kent Hipps of Waynesville, and Jeffrey Scott Hipps and his wife, Darlene, of Clyde; eight grandchildren, Courtney Hipps Parris and her husband, Chad, of Canton, Lindsey and Colby Hipps of Clyde, Wesley Hipps and his wife, Andrea, of Columbia, SC, Bradley and Justin Hipps both of Carey, NC, and Hila and Idan Silverstein of Carey, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Chloe Parris of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
