Nancy Holman

Waynesville, Nancy Crutchfield Holman, age 86, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A native of St. Augustine, Florida, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Rosalie Berry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Henry Holman, who died in 2006; a son, Richard Edward Holman; a daughter, Tyra Sue Holman; and a sister, Lucille Payne. She worked ten years at the Teepee Town Christmas Shop, retiring in 1987 and was a member of the St. Augustine Junior Service League and Camillia Garden Club. Nancy enjoyed sewing and reading and was a member of the Peachtree United Methodist Church. Nancy is survived by nieces and nephews, Marty Payne, Becky Hall, Nancy Payne, and Al and Red Crutchfield; numerous cousins; and two special caregivers, Jean Sexton and Pat Koskey. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Peachtree United Methodist Church with Reverend Martha Buff Welch and Reverend Kitty Crain officiating. Memorials may be made to Peachtree United Methodist Church, 307 Black Camp Gap Road, Maggie Valley, NC 28751.
