Nancy Patterson

Waynesville, Nancy Riggins Patterson, age 75, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Janie Ross Riggins and was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen E. "Pat" Patterson, who died in 2003. She was a US Air Force veteran. Nancy worked as an accountant at Blue Ridge Glass and attended Ninevah Baptist Church. Nancy loved spending time with her grandchildren and the "Golden Girls" and enjoyed weaving baskets. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Christie Patterson of Waynesville; two sisters, Levada Mills of Winston-Salem and Judy Leopard of Waynesville; a brother, Gene Riggins, of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; granddaughter, Kimber Warlick and her husband, Justin; three great-granddaughters, Olivia, Adeline and Arya Warlick; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Leslie and Reverend Alan Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Early, Ronnie Smith, Larry Smith, Larry Inman, Bob Morris and Dino Leopard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at the home of her granddaughter, 338 Haynes Cove Road.
