Nancy Wright

Waynesville, Nancy Kay Pruett Wright, age 72, of Kennel Way, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Geneva Moody Pruett and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Pruett and Shirley Mills. Nancy was employed at Haywood Regional Medical Center for 19 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed needlework and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Winfred R. Wright, Jr.; a daughter, Lynnette Wright; two sons, Jason and Travis Lloyd Wright, all of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Ashley and Eli Wright; and two great grandchildren, Lucus and Kyler Kitchen; a nephew, Charles Mills; and a niece, Renee Henson and her daughter, Brittany. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Allens Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Eli Wright, Charles Mills, Ronnie Kilby, Jack Ross, Bruce Bowman and Roy Haynes. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of North Carolina, 4530 Park Road, Suite 240, Charlotte, NC 28209.
