Waynesville-Naomi Pauline Bailey Coyle, age 86, died Friday, February 2, 2007 at Autumn Care Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was a native of New Jersey, where she lived most of her life, before moving to Ocean Ridge, Florida and then to Haywood County, where she lived for the past eleven years. She was the preceded in death by her parents, William A. and Pauline Bailey; her husband, Alexander Coyle, who died in 1977; a daughter, Susan Mose who died in 2005 and several brothers and sisters. She was a co-owner of Sink' r Swim retail shop in Long Beach Island, NJ from where she retired. Naomi was very selfless in her death by donating her brain to the Harvard Brain Bank for further research on Alzheimer's Disease of which she lived with for the past eleven years. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Chapman and her husband, Perry of Waynesville; a son, John Coyle and his wife, Gretchen of Beach Haven, NJ; three grandchildren, Debra Consigli of Denver, CO, Troy Williams of Joshua Tree, CA, Courtney Coyle of La Jolla, CA, one great-granddaughter, Alexandra Coyle-McDonald and nieces Diane Williams and Pat Griscom A memorial service will be held at a later date in Florida In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801.
