Naomi Freeman

Canton- Naomi Perkins Freeman died Monday, May 7, 2007 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was a native of Madison, Indiana, but had resided in Haywood County for the past 64 years. She was a daughter of the late Edward Perkins and was preceded in death by her husband, Jay W. Freeman, who died in 1962 and one grandson, Eric Lane Walling. Naomi was a member of Canton First Baptist Church and worked for the Haywood County School System in the cafeteria at Morning Star and Pennsylvania Avenue. She is survived by one daughter, Ava Jay Freeman Walling and her husband, E.T., of Gaston, SC; one grandson, Bryan Wayne Walling of Elgin, SC and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road with Reverend Ed Oakley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:30 prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
