Naomi Haney

Waynesville-Naomi "Boots" Moore Haney-69, formerly of 6911 Old Clyde Road, died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Brian Center of Waynesville after an extended illness.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Effie Harkins Moore. She was the wife of the late Paul Douglas Haney who died in 1997 and was also preceded in death by three sisters; Ova Lee Wells, Hilda Rogers and Martha Hill, six brothers; Claude, Raymond, Pete, Phillip, Woody and Paul Moore. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Buchanan and her husband Hugh of Waynesville, two sons, Doug Haney of West Virginia, Daniel Haney and his wife Marti of Canton, two sisters, Marie Hipps of Clyde, Coy McGowan of Jesup, GA, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Virgil Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence of her son, Daniel Haney, 6911 Old Clyde Road, Canton, NC 28716.
