Ned Brown

Canton-Ned Walter Brown, age 78, of the Bethel Community, died Thursday, January 13, 2005 at Mission St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John Seburen and Hattie Fish Brown. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers Milburn, George and Fred. Mr. Brown retired from Champion International with 38 years of service and was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Annalee Wells Brown of Canton, three sons and their wives, Walter and Sharon Brown and Fred and Joy Brown, all of Canton and Jim and Sandy Brown of West Asheville, one sister-in-law Mozella Brown of Canton, 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. Reverend Naomi King and Reverend Hal Finney will officiate. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
