Ned Lindsey

Ronald Ned Lindsey, age 75, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Kyle Compton and Lucy Justice Lindsey. He was also preceded in death by a twin brother, Donald Ted Lindsey. He retired from Champion International in 2003 with 45 years of services. He enjoyed woodworking, whittling, and working in his yard. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lela "Tootsie" Carver Lindsey; two daughters, Deborah Buchanan and her husband, Daniel and Karen Moore and her husband, John, all of Canton; two sisters, Sue Carter of Clyde and Patricia Julian of Brevard; four brothers, Robert "Bob" Lindsey of Flint, Michigan, Reverend Carrol Lindsey of Clyde, Bill Lindsey of Charlotte, and Gary Lindsey of Clyde; five grandchildren, Tiffany Lawrence, Brittany and Danielle Buchanan, Stephanie Long, and Brandon Moore; and four great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Natalyah, Ashton, and Olivia. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Jonathan Blaylock and Reverend Carrol Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
