Neil Ivester

Neil Ann Allen Ivester, age 79, went to be with her beloved Buddy and God on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was born on March 10, 1930, to William and Annette Bryson Allen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Red" Ivester. She had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the best Mamaw anyone could have. Neil Ann always thought and cared for others before herself and she was a true blue Democrat. She was a member of Crossroads Assembly of God Church. She is survived by two sons, Allen "Sandy" Ivester and Bill Ivester "Red" and his wife, Ann, all of Canton; two sisters, Toba Grogan of Canton and Betty Anderson and her husband, Jim, of Rutherfordton; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Pressley and her husband, Ray, and Judy VanLandingham and her husband, Van, all of Canton; three grandchildren, Debrinia Mehaffey, Kristy Sorrells and her husband, Dusty, and Clay Ivester and his wife, Cary; and 11 great-grandchildren; Harmony and Jurnee Connor, Dakota and Joseph Sorrells, Shay, Ryan, Gavin, Riley, Samantha, Savannah, and Lilly Jo Ivester all of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend J. Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
