Canton - Neil Charles McKinnish, age 75, died Sunday October 27, 2002 at his residence.
He was a native and life long resident of Haywood County and was the son of the late Mitchell P. and Marie Greenwood McKinnish.
He was a member of Canton Central United Methodist Church and Pigeon River Lodge #386 AF&AM. He retired from Champion International with 35 years of service and he was a World War II Navy veteran.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, Hiawatha S. McKinnish of Canton, he is survived by a daughter, Kathy Clontz of Canton; three sons, Charles McKinnish and his wife, Pollyanna, Douglas McKinnish and his wife, Susan, all of Canton and Tim McKinnish and his wife, Caroline, of Morristown, TN; five grandchildren, Mitchell, Karri, Tyler, Quintin and Abby McKinnish.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29th at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverends Michael Gehring and David Shaver officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence.
