Nelda Jones

Spring Creek-Nelda Hall Jones, age 76, of Walking Horse Drive, died Friday, May 14, 2004 at Aston Park Health Care Center in Asheville. She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Francis and Lola Williams Hall. She was the wife of the late Bobby Norbin Jones who died in 1961 and was also preceded in death by her special friend and companion for 23 years, Joe Miller who died in 1986. She was employed by Buncombe County Schools as a cafeteria lady at Candler Elementary. She was active in the Spring Creek and Hominy Valley Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by one daughter, Debra Lawrence of Spring Creek, two sons, Michael "Frog" Jones of Asheville and Hugh Jones of Canton, one brother, Francis Dean Hall of Candler, one granddaughter, Wendy Lawrence of Hendersonville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
