Nellie Pressley

Canton – Nellie "Nell" Burrell Pressley, age 59, of 9 Oak St, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2009 at St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals, after a lengthy illness and in the presence of her family. Nell was born in Asheville, NC to the late William E. and Nellie Boone Burrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Nell was a retired master framer and a loving mother and granny. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William (Gary) Pressley: two sons: SGT. William G. "Billy" Pressley, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Fort Bragg, and Steven Pressley and his wife, Lynn, of Clyde, and a daughter, Janet Dies and her husband, Jeff, of Bethel; her mother-in-law, Evelyn Pressley of Canton; eight grandchildren; and a great number of close family friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Dan Page, Reverend Perry Hines, Reverend Terry Penland, and Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at Long's Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
