Nellie P. Stamey

Nellie Parris Stamey, 82, of Canton died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center.
A native of Jackson County, she was daughter of the late Claude Monroe and Mary Ethel Green Parris. She was the widow of Robert Fred Stamey who died in 1974 and had retired from Champion International with 10 years service. She was a member of North Canton Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Thomas R. Stamey and his wife, Naomi "Nink" of Clyde, a sister, Dixie Parris of Sylva, a half sister, Faye Muse of Waynesville, a brother, Howard Parris of Sylva, two grandchildren, Robin T. Stamey of Elizabeth City and Christina S. Pace and her husband, Don of Plano, TX, and two great grandchildren, Emily and Evan Pace of Plano, TX.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21st at Addie Cemetery in Jackson County with Reverend Christopher Westmoreland officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 until 8:30 at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
