Nellie Trull

March 15, 1941 — September 16, 2007

Canton - Nellie Bird Trull went home to be with God on September 16, 2007. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She was a health care worker for many years. Nellie was born on March 15, 1941 to the late Timpson and Alkinney (Ollie) Taylor Bird in the Wolfetown Community of the Qualla Boundary. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, John and Sherman Bird; five sisters, Eva Bird, Annie Sherrill, Lucinda Reed, Martha Queen and Betty Catolster, and a special companion, Henry E. Reno. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Lambert and her husband, Scott, of Smyrna, GA and Nancy Driver and her husband, Watty, Jr., of Cherokee; one son, Dennis Trull of Canton; a sister, Bessie Welch; a brother, Tony Bird and his wife, Mary Ann; three grandchildren, Amy Sutton of Clyde, Keyonah and Shana Lambert of Smyrna, GA and many nieces and nephews, each of whom she loved as her own. She was loved by all. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2007 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Denny King officiating. Burial will follow in Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Scott, Allen, and Kirby Welch, Cameron Cooper, William and Bruce Reed. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
