Nicholas Mastriana

Waynesville-Nicholas "Nick" Mastriana, age 16, of Tiger Lily Lane, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital. He was a native of Haywood County, born on November 4, 1988. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and namesake, Nicholas Mastriana, and his maternal grandmother, Mary Gerard. Nick played football for the Tuscola Mountaineers during his freshman year and played the saxophone in the band. Nick was currently a student serving as class president at Central Haywood High School. Nick loved the sport of drag racing, which included his 1969 Chevy Nova SS. Nick is survived by his parents, Lenny and Wanda Mastriana of Waynesville; a sister, Jessica Ann Mastriana, of the home; two brothers, Jeffrey and Joseph Trapani, both of New York; and his paternal grandmother, Carol Ann Mastriana, of Waynesville. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service. Memorials may be made in the memory of Nick Mastriana to Central Haywood High School, P.O.
