Nicie Deaver

Nicie Stamey Deaver, age 92, of the Dix Creek Community died Monday, December 12, 2005 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of John E. and Caroline Blaylock Stamey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Morris Deaver who died in 2000. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Singleton and her husband, Steve of Canton; a son, Michael Terry Deaver and his wife, Gloria of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Stephanie Stines and Lane Deaver and three great-grandchildren, Josie and Sophie Stines and Lakoda Deaver. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Perry Brindley and Reverend Heath Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Wells Funeral Homes of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
