Waynesville-Noble Noel Arrington, age 89, formerly of Hampshire Drive, died Sunday, October 10, 2004 at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Ellen Messer Arrington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Ledford Arrington who died in 1990; seven brothers, Vaughn, Manson, Amos, Norman, Dennis, Rashio, and Way Arrington; and four sisters, Hazel Arrington, Lizzie Lowe, Fannie Woody, and Roxie Clark. He retired in 1977 from Dayco after 37 years employment and was a member of Ninevah Baptist Church. He loved trout fishing and basketball. He is survived by a son, Ralph Dean Arrington, and his wife, Shirley, of Canton; a grandson, Noel Dean Arrington and his wife, Waynetta; a granddaughter, Rebecca Onder, and her husband, David; two great-granddaughters, Caitlin and Kristen Arrington; a sister, Eva Arrington Gunter, of Lake Junaluska; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend G. W. Jameson and Reverend Mike Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, and at other times, the family will be at the residence. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
