Nola Henderson

Lake Junaluska, Nola Stokley Henderson, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Royal and Margaret Self Stokley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Donald Henderson; five sisters; and five brothers. She loved crocheting, reading, and gardening, especially her flower garden. Nola was a member of Junaluska Baptist Church. Nola is survived by a daughter, Brenda Kay Trantham, of Clyde; a son, Joseph "Rex" Henderson and his wife, Teresa, of Kings Mountain, NC; two step-sons, Estol Henderson and his wife, Carol, of Clyde and Larry "Dean" Henderson of Columbia, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend James Huey officiating. Burial will follow at Old Thickety Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to services.
