Nola Sharp

Waynesville-Nola Kirkpatrick Davis Sharp, age 77, of 1398 Crymes Cove Road, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was a native of Madison County and had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Ben and Agnes Ledford Kirkpatrick. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Leroy Davis, who died in 1987; a son, William Dale Davis, who died in 1988; and four brothers, James, Pless, Roosevelt, and Carl Kirkpatrick; two sisters, Viola Rathbone and Inez Kirkpatrick; and a son-in-law, Dean Gaddis. She was manager of the Family Dollar Store in Canton and Waynesville for more than 20 years and a charter member of the Ninevah Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of four years, Wallace Sharp; three daughters, Irene Gaddis, of Waynesville, Marcia Mehaffey and her husband, Bill, of Clyde, and Wanda Sutton and her husband, Jeff, of Maggie Valley; a son, Steve Davis and his wife, Carolyn, of Waynesville; two step-sons, David Sharp of Spruce Pine and Danny Sharp of Cherokee; a sister, Pauline Kirkpatrick, of Fines Creek; two brothers, Tommy Kirkpatrick of Waynesville and Garnet Kirkpatrick of Middletown, Delaware; 11 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Ninevah Baptist Church with Reverend Michael J. Leslie and Reverend Wayne Sorrells officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim and Richie Davis, Ronnie Ammons, and Ben, Luke, and Jacob Sutton. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Cutshaw, Justin Cutshaw, and Timothy Mehaffey.
