Nona Cobb

March 23, 1925 — April 5, 2016

Lake Junaluska, Nona Dieffenwierth Cobb, 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Smoky Mountain Health and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Pasco County, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Freeland and Minnie Blitch Dieffenwierth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Cobb, who died in 2011; a twin brother, Frank Dieffenwierth, three brothers, Hal, Thomas Jr., and Robert Dieffenwierth and a sister Carolyn D. Ansley. Nona was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church. She loved spending time with her family, and gardening. She loved music and playing the piano and organ in the churches she attended, and was a Sunday school teacher. Nona was an active volunteer member of the American Red Cross, also a Literacy Coordinator and a Girl Scout leader. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Jones, and her husband, Wayne, of Lake Junaluska; two grandchildren, Michael Jones, and his wife, Allison, of Leland and Tracy Jones, of Lake Junaluska; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Eddie Dietz officiating. Burial will follow at Dawn Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
