Nora Kirkland

Canton - Nora Bell Kirkland - age 67 passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 3, 2005 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Wade and Ethel Matteson Kirkland. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ora Lee Kirkland and one grand-nephew, Westley Riddle. Miss Kirkland was a member of Canton Wesleyan Church and a loving person who loved everyone she came into contact with. Nora Bell enjoyed playing with children and especially her nieces and nephews. She is survived by two sisters, Juanita Davis and her husband James of Killen, Alabama and Janet Metcalf of Clyde; one brother, Taylor Kirkland of Hartsville, South Carolina; two nephews, Jimmy and Joey Riddle; one niece, Tammy May and several grand-nephews and one grand-niece. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2005 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Jimmy Riddle officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 1154 Thompson Cove Road, Clyde, NC.
