Nora Rice

Nora Stuart Rice, age 69, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2012, at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Bucombe County, she was the daughter of the late James William and Loraine Ledbetter Stuart. She was a member of Fairmont Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Annette Waldrup of Candler and Tammy Runyon of Asheville; two sons, Carroll Mashburn, Jr. of Leicester and Tony Lee Mashburn of Waynesville; three sisters, Linda, Nancy, and Barbara; two brothers, Jerry and James; ten grandchildren, Rhonda, Misty, Nicole, Jonathan, Paige, Stephanie, Amber, Evan, Brandon, and Gabriel; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Harold Webb and Terry Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Happy Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
