Norabell Pless

Canton - Norabell Henson Pless, age 80, of Harley Creek Road died Friday, April 30, 2004 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Neely and Ollie Parris Henson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Pless who died in 1999 and a daughter, Judy Faye Henson. She was a homemaker and a member of Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church and East Fork Baptist Church. She was a nanny to everybody. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Leatherwood and her husband, Dewayne, of Canton; a son, David Pless and his wife, Doris, of Clyde; two brothers, Dillard and Bill Henson both of Canton; a son-in-law, Fred Henson of Candler; four grandchildren, Jonathan Henson and his wife, Melissa, Pamela Greene and her husband, Roger, Michael Pless and his wife, Heather, Jacob Leatherwood and his wife, Cicely as well as four great grandchildren, Kaylin and Rex Greene and Isaac and Shelby Pless. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Reverend Jake Cagle officiating. Burial will follow at Gwyn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jacob Leatherwood, Michael Pless, Jonathan Henson, Roger Greene, Danny Ray Wood and Daryl Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Bates, Dewayne Rathbone and Jeff Heatherly Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 486 E. Marshall St., Waynesville, NC 28786.
