Norma Wright

Lake Junaluska, Norma Lillian Roberts Wright, 86, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Advent Health in Hendersonville.

A native of Western North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Reverend Ivon Roberts and Lillian Smith Roberts.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Osteen Cosgrove and brother, Elwood Roberts.

Norma was an innkeeper at several beautiful Lake Junaluska properties including Brookside Lodge, Lagoalinda Lodge, Providence Lodge, and Sunset Inn.  She graduated from Duke University and was delighted with the success of Blue Devils basketball.  A proud member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, Norma enjoyed being active and some of her favorite hobbies included golfing, playing bridge, and participating in her garden club.  She never turned down chocolate and spending time with her grandchildren was her joy.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, David Arthur Wright; daughter, Michelle Choate; son, Mark Wright; sister, Wilma Cato, and four grandchildren, Tripp Choate (Carly), Dylan Choate, Beau Choate, and Pre Choate.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Lake Junaluska Memorial Chapel.

The care of Mrs. Wright has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
