Novella Brown

"Loving Mother and Grandmother" Canton – Novella Mae Clark Brown, age 87, entered into her eternal heavenly home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Fay Taylor Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Lee Brown, who died in February of 2016; a son, Jimmy Brown, who died in 2006; a brother, Paul Clark and a grandson, Jody Brown. Novella enjoyed cooking, and especially spending time with her family. She was a member of North Canton Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Singleton and husband, Neal of Canton and Linda Craig and husband, Gary, of Candler; a son, Kevin Brown and wife, Angie, of Clyde; six grandchildren, Jason, Stephanie, Chad, Shane, Brandon and Slade; 19 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Austin and Kristal and one step-great-granddaughter, Lilly. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Wells Funeral Home of Canton with the Reverend Mark Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be to North Canton Baptist Church, 735 North Canton Road, Canton, NC 28716. The family would like to give special thanks to Novella's caregivers, Melanie Burress and Kathy Taylor.
