Novella Mullins

Canton- Novella Mullins, age 92, of the Cruso Community went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Brian Center in Waynesville. A native of Lawrence County, GA she had resided in Miami Springs, Fl and had lived in Haywood County over 35 years. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Myrtle Willis Horne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. "Moon" Mullins who died in 1973. Mrs. Mullins was a member of Sweet Fellowship Baptist Church and was very dedicated and devoted to her Baptist faith. She was the matriarch of the family who led many children in and outside of the home to find their faith in the Lord. Mrs. Mullins served in many capacities in leadership roles in local and state positions of her faith. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara M. Gammon and her husband, Don, of Ormond Beach, Fl and Karen A. Mullins; two sons, Richard A. Mullins and his wife, Helen, and Jon Ed Mullins and his wife, Sally, all of Cruso; two brothers, Newell A. Horne and his wife, Doris, of Lawrenceville, GA and Claude G. Horne, of Riverside, CA; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2009 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Cullen and Pastor Jerry Hoglen officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
