Waynesville, Odell Hal Wyatt, age 75, of 293 Plott Valley Road, passed away on Saturday, November 08, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Henry Estes and Mary Russell Wyatt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Jones and three brothers, Ralph, Salem and Hobert Wyatt; brother-in-law, Kenneth Mehaffey; and sister-in-law, Annie Mae Wyatt. He was an electrician at Dayco and retired in 1992 and was owner of Odell Wyatt Electric. Odell was a US Army veteran and a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maxine McGaha Wyatt; two daughters, Rita Hooper and her husband, Keith, of Waynesville and Jan Nesbitt and her husband, Don, of Clyde; three sisters, Sandra Hedden and her husband, Steve, Shirley Mehaffey and Bonnie Wyatt; three brothers, Walter Wyatt and his wife, Ellen, Ray Wyatt and his wife, Nancy, and Alvin Wyatt and his wife, Clydie; brother-in-law, Cecil Jones; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Irene Wyatt; one granddaughter, Jamie Francis and her husband, Andy; and three grandsons, Logan Nesbitt and his wife, Ashley, and Wyatt and Hunter Hooper. Left to cherish his memory are many close and dear friends, especially Scott Campbell, who was like a son to him, Ruby and Charles Haynes, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2008 at Green Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Ricky Wolfe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday November 9, 2008 at Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Waynesville.
