Ola Faulkner

Waynesville, Ola Parton Faulkner, age 82, of the Ratcliffe Cove community, died unexpectedly Friday, January 2, 2009 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Hillard and Cynthia Louise Cook Parton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Joseph "DJ" Faulkner who died September 10, 1988. Retiring from Wellco Corporation in 1988 Ola loved working in her flower garden and selling merchandise at the local flea markets. She also enjoyed cooking and loved her family and friends with all her heart. She is survived by her son, David T. Faulkner of Waynesville, one daughter, Judy Faulkner Coley and her husband Bert of Waynesville and a granddaughter, Jamie Ann Coley of Ponce, Puerto Rico. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Greg Metcalf will officiate. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at Ola's residence.
