Ola Kellett

Waynesville, Ola Elizabeth Kellett, age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Autumn Care of Waynesville. A native of Anderson, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Robert Walter and Lottie Lee Smith Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Kellett, who passed away in 1990; a son, Gene Kellett; one brother, two sisters and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Kellett. Ola had a fondness for crocheting and her cuddly cat, Abbey. She loved cooking for her family, and was a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by five sisters, Trudy Murphy, Willie Mae Little, Polly Kay, Margaret McKinley all of South Carolina and Lee Vanaman of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Cindy West and her husband, David, of Bremen, Georgia and Blake Kellett and his wife, Teresa, of Dallas, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Nick West, Cory West and Trent Kellett; and adopted granddaughter, Lynn Medford. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina with Reverend Greg Cullen officiating. Memorials may be made to Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church, 98 Elizabeth Chapel Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
