Candler – Oliver and Dorothy King Clark, husband and wife of 58 years, passed away seven days apart. Oliver's passing was on Friday, May 15, 2015 followed by Dorothy's on May 22, 2015, both at their home. Oliver was a native of Buncombe County, and was the son of the late Tranis Mitchell and Elzie King Clark. Dorothy was a native Haywood County, and was the daughter of Clinton and Glennie Stines King. In addition to their parents, they were preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly Dawn Clark and Deborah Faye Clark; and a son, Billy Clark. Oliver Clark was an employee of Beverly-Grant Corporation retiring with over 40 years of service and also worked part-time for Doctors L. Dean and Everett Smith. Gardening was a particular love of Oliver's, growing large and beautiful vegetables that he enjoyed sharing with others exemplifying a servants heart and good nature toward others. Dorothy Clark was an employee of Memorial Mission Hospital in the laundry service department. She was known for her homemade biscuits. She enjoyed canning and preserving the vegetables that were grown for her by her loving husband, Oliver. A fond remembrance of all will be her loving smile. Along with her husband Oliver, Dorothy shared an unending love for all of their family and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Clark are survived by their daughter, Edna Barrett and her husband, Edward, of Canton/Candler; their son, Keith Clark and his fiancé, Barbara Rathbone, of Candler; six grandchildren, Christy Sprouse (Dennis), Jamie Barrett (Debbie), Brooke Clark, Nathan Clark, Tonya Boydston (Michael), and Krystal Lambert (Chris); three great-grandchildren, Kyle Sprouse, Matthew Barrett, and Ethan Clark; and in addition, Dorothy is survived by a sister, Edith Williams and her husband , Harold; and many nieces and nephews. Joint funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David Hall and Reverend Mark Penley officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Candler. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the funeral home in Canton.
